9th Annual Pre–Rosh Hashana Challah Bake

There’s something special about preparing for Rosh Hashana together.

Join us for Chabad of Hunt Valley’s 9th Annual Pre–Rosh Hashana Challah Bake, an evening of friendship, inspiration, and hands-on baking as we create beautiful pomegranate-shaped challahs for the New Year. Whether you're an experienced baker or trying it for the first time, you'll leave with a gorgeous challah, meaningful memories, and a heart ready for the holidays.

But this evening is about much more than baking.

While our challah dough is rising, we'll come together to prepare Rosh Hashana care packages for members of our community. Each gift bag will include honey, grape juice, and a special place for one of the freshly baked challahs we'll make together. Before Rosh Hashana, these thoughtful gifts will be personally delivered to nearly 100 seniors and neighbors throughout Mays Chapel and Hunt Valley who may not be able to join a community Rosh Hashana dinner, ensuring they can still celebrate the holiday with warmth, sweetness, and connection.

Every participant will have the opportunity to be part of this beautiful mitzvah—helping assemble the gift bags, preparing them for delivery, and knowing that your challah will help brighten someone's holiday.
