High Holiday Service Information 5781

WE LOOK FORWARD TO ONCE AGAIN, OFFERING AN ENJOYABLE AND MEANINGFUL ROSH HASHANA AND YOM KIPPUR. DUE TO COVID-19 WE HAVE PUT GUIDELINES IN PLACE TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY, AND HEALTH. WE HAVE MOVED SERVICES TO AN OUTDDOR TENT/ GAZEBO TO ALLOW FOR EXTRA SAFETY MEASURES THIS YEAR. WE HAVE ALSO CHANGED THE TIME TO START EARLIER, AND SHORTENED THE REGULAR SERVICE TO PLAN THAT IT WILL BE FINISHED BEFORE THE HEAT OF THE DAY.

Additionally, due to the pandemic we will be offering a couple of different service options each day, to ensure that everyone can attend the synagogue in any way that they feel comfortable.  The following are the options we have in place. When reserving please check all boxes that you wish to attend allowing us to prepare accordingly. (Children are welcome as services will be outdoors and they will have a separate tent.)

1. Rosh Hashana Day One - Outdoor Service (September 19)

  • Start Time: 9 :00 AM
  • Duration: 2  Hours
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)
  • Please Note: This year the first day of Rosh Hashana falls out on Shabbat, and we DO NOT blow the shofar on Shabbat. If you would like to hear the shofar, please be sure to reserve for day #2 as well.
  • **Children's program from 9:30-11 AM.** 

2. Rosh Hashana Day Two - Outdoor Service (September 20)

  • Start Time: 9 :00 AM
  • Duration: 2  Hours
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)
  • Please Note: Day two of Rosh Hashana is not Shabbat, and we WILL G-d willing be blowing the shofar at all services this day.
  • **Children's program is from 9:30-11:00 AM** 

3. Rosh Hashana Day Two - Shofar Only (September 20)

  • Start Time: 11 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Duration: 10 Minutes
  • Location: Chabad of Hunt Valley - 808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030 

4. Rosh Hashana Day Two - Shofar and Tashlich In The Park (September 20)

  • Start time: 4:30 PM
  • Duration: 10 Minutes  
  • Location: Near the entrance to the playground area of OREGON RIDGE PARK

 5. Yom Kippur Eve - Regular Service (September 27)

  • Start time: 7:00 PM
  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)

 6. Yom Kippur Day - Regular Service (September 28)

  • Start time: 9 :00 AM 
  • Duration: About 3 Hours
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)

 7. Yom Kippur Day - Children's Program (September 28)

  • Start time: 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd.21030)

 8. Yom Kippur Day - Yizkor Only (September 28)

  • Start time: 11:30 AM
  • Duration: 15 Minutes
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)

 9. Yom Kippur Late Afternoon - Mincha and N'eila (September 28)

  • Start time: 5:30 PM
  • Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Location: Outdoor tent at The Zirkind Residence (808 W. Padonia Rd. 21030)

*. Chabad will be providing masks and prayer books. We will also be sanitizing books, chairs, tables and restrooms between all services.

**Individually wrapped kiddush boxes will be available for your enjoyment after each service ends. (Yom Kippur's Kiddush boxes will only be available at the end of the day, for break fast.)

***Chabad will be launching the High Holiday season with our 3rd annual Rosh Hashana Woman's Challah bake.  Reserve a time to pick up your Challah-In-A-Box today, and join, Jewish woman for all over the area bake Challah together on ZOOM.
