Join Chabad of Hunt Valley for a joyful and family-friendly Lag BaOmer BBQ at Meadowood Park!

Lag BaOmer, the 33rd day of the Omer, is a unique and uplifting day on the Jewish calendar. It marks the end of a tragic period when a plague affected the students of Rabbi Akiva, and it is also the anniversary of passing of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, a great sage who revealed the deeper, mystical teachings of the Torah. Lag BaOmer is a day filled with light, joy, and unity — traditionally celebrated with bonfires, music, and gatherings outdoors.

That’s why we celebrate in the open air — in parks and fields, surrounded by nature, with family and friends. It’s a time to step outside, enjoy the warmth and energy of the day, and come together in a relaxed, happy atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Lag BaOmer.

Enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner featuring hot dogs, burgers, fries, fresh salads, drinks, and sweet treats like cotton candy. Relax and take in the atmosphere with music playing as families gather, kids laugh, and friendships grow.

Children will enjoy a variety of activities including crafts, playground time, swings, and open space to run and play, while adults can unwind and enjoy great food and great company.

Whether you're coming with family, friends, or meeting new people, this is a warm and welcoming way to celebrate Lag BaOmer together.
